The first step to finding a kitty to adopt is to complete an adoption application. Please apply so we can invite you to meet them all.

To complete the application, you may use this fillable PDF to electronically type, or print the application and fill it out by hand, and then do one of the following:

  • Email it as a file attachment to: sheltermanager@thepetrefuge.org
  • Fax it to us at (401) 294-4963.
  • If you are unable to email or fax the application, you are welcome to drop it off at the shelter for processing.

Please note only processed and approved applicants are invited to make an appointment to meet our wonderful cats.

Our Adoption Fees:

  • Kittens (less than 1 year old): $275
  • Adults (1-10 years old): $200
  • Seniors (older than 10 years): $100
  • Special Needs: At Managers' Discretion
  • NOTE: All adoptions to homes in states outside of Rhode Island is an additional fee assessed by those state regulations that we must pass on to you. That fee is $125 per cat additional.
